Phathiswa is the Executive Director of the South African Press Council. She is an academic, journalist and business executive with more than two decades of strategic and editorial leadership experience, Phathiswa Magopeni is an SABC Board Director and chairs the Public Broadcasting Committee of the Board. The Vice Chair of African Women in Media, Phathiswa has held a number of executive roles, including Editor-in-Chief for SABC News and Chief Operations Officer at Bhekisisa Centre for Health Journalism.
