M20 summit

M20 Summit, 1-2 Sept 2025 A two-day conference on media and information integrity running on the sidelines of the G20 programme in South Africa.

The M20 initiative highlights media, journalism and information integrity issues relevant to the G20 process and mirrors official G20 engagement groups for business, think-tanks and civil society among others.  The M20 programme is organised by the South African National Editors’ Forum (Sanef) and Media Monitoring Africa (MMA) as an independent initiative alongside the official G20 programme under the South African presidency.

The highlight of the 2025 M20 programme will be a set of events on the future of journalism in the first week of September in Johannesburg, including the international M20 Summit hosted by Sanef, MMA and partners on the 1st and 2nd September, and the CTRL + J conference organised by the GIBS Media Leadership Think Tank and IFPIM on 3 to 5 September.
